College Football: U of L Faces Houston; UK at Vandy; IU Visits Wisconsin
The Louisville Cardinals are back in action tomorrow against visiting Houston.
This is U of L’s first Saturday night game in several years. Coach Charlie Strong has mixed opinions about the 7:00pm kickoff.
"I like those 3:30 (Saturday) games because you’re sitting there all day and you’re so anxious and you want to go play. But I think just for the crowd it’s better (on) a Saturday night because they have all day to tailgate and get around their friends and have a good time, then they’ll come into the stadium and cheer us on," he said.
U of L is 8-1 overall and tied with Houston and Cincinnati for second place in the American Athletic Conference. Undefeated Central Florida is in first place.
The Kentucky Wildcats are looking for just their third win of the season with a trip to Vanderbilt tomorrow Saturday afternoon. The Commodores are coming off a big win last weekend against Florida and would become bowl-eligible with a victory over UK.
The Wildcats are 2-7 with no postseason hopes, but coach Mark Stoops says he’s not looking to play the spoiler role.
"We need to win for us, for our fans, for our people and our kids and our program. And that’s motivation enough for me," Stoops said.
Kickoff in Nashville is at 12:20pm. Indiana is on the road this weekend at Wisconsin for a noon kickoff.
