Louisville Metro Councilwoman Attica Scott wants residents of west and southwest Louisville to weigh in on the city's 25-year plan this week.The mayor's office has been gathering citizen input on the city's future online and in a series of public meetings for a project called Vision Louisville. The ideas will be compiled and incorporated into a master plan for development.So far, many of the suggestions focus on public transit and downtown development. District 1 Metro Councilwoman Attica Scott says she wants her constituents to speak up this week to make sure the final plan addresses every part of the city.“People who live in areas, they have not so far been included in those visioning ideas, they have to come out on Tuesday and share their thoughts and ideas," she says. "They have to come out on Tuesday and raise their voices and say 'Stop ignoring us. Remember we are part of the city of Louisville and the city will only rise if all neighborhoods in the city rise.”Scott says there are a few issues she'd like to see addressed during this idea-gathering process.“Some of those include being real honest and direct about: what does it look like for young people to achieve in our city," she says. "What does it look like for young people of color in our city to achieve and are we being intentional in the way that happens?”A public meeting Tuesday at 5:30 at Maupin Elementary will be the first and only public meeting on Vision Louisville in District 1.Here is a full schedule of public meetings.
