Fischer's Campaign Twitter Account Hacked
Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer's campaign Twitter account has been hacked. The page has been inactive since February 2011, but a new profanity-laced message appeared last week. Since taking office, neither Fischer's campaign or administration have used the page and the mayor has used @louisvillemayor to send out instant messages to followers. In the past, Fischer has threatened to ban citizens who use foul language on his social networking sites. Mayoral spokesman Chris Poynter says they have asked Twitter to close the account, but it will take up to two weeks. This wouldn't be the mayor's first Twitter controversy. When Fischer first took office, an anonymous user created a spoof account—@mayorfischer—lampooning the Louisville businessman-turned-mayor, taking jabs at his personality and wealthy background.
