The Frazier History Museum’s executive director is retiring. Madeleine Burnside, who has led the museum for seven years, announced today her intent to retire at the end of this month.During her tenure, Burnside oversaw the museum’s name change and a broadening of the museum’s mission to focus on regional, national and international history. In a release, board chairperson Walter Crutcher praised Burnside’s leadership, and said the museum would begin a national search for a new executive director immediately. The Frazier was founded in 2004 as the Frazier Arms Museum, and serves more than 150,000 adults and children each year.  The museum is in the final stages of a two-million dollar campaign to fund expansions of exhibition and education spaces, and an entrance remodel. The museum is currently host to “Gridiron Glory,” an exhibit on football history from the NFL Hall of Fame, and a bourbon history exhibit sponsored by the Kentucky Distillers Association.
