Inaugural Program in Library Series to Discuss Climate Change

The Louisville Free Public Library is launching a new series called "What's Next" to look at important issues coming up in the future. The first lecture in the series? A discussion about climate change. From the news release:

If this year’s extreme weather and climate-study headlines have caught your attention, come hear Dr. Keith Mountain, professor and chair of the department of geography and geosciences at the University of Louisville. From shrinking ice to scorching summers, he has been engaged as a researcher in the science of climate change for over 30 years - his perspective shaped by his research in places as far away as Antarctica, Greenland, China, Africa and South America, and as close as Louisville’s Iroquois Park.

The talk is September 6 at 7:00 p.m. It's free, but tickets are required. Get them at the library's website or call 574-1644.
