Indiana's Proposed New Education Standards Available for Review
The final draft of Indiana's proposed new education standards is now available online for public viewing.
The Indiana Department of Education has released the proposed guidelines for what students should learn in each grade.
A panel including Gov. Mike Pence, education officials, business leaders and teachers is set to vote Monday on whether to endorse the new math and English benchmarks.
The State Board of Education has until July to meet a 2013 legislative mandate to replace the national Common Core standards.
Indiana became the first state to drop those standards this March after critics called to replace them with a more rigorous model created in the state.
The public comment period for the draft standards has ended.
