Jockey Rosie Napravnik Likely to Make History Again

Rosie Napravnik is set to become the first female jockey to ride in all three Triple Crown races in the same year, and the first to try and win one of the races aboard a filly.

Trainer Todd Pletcher says Napravnik is "very, very likely" to be his rider for the filly Unlimited Budget in the Belmont Stakes on June 8.

Pletcher says a final decision on whether Unlimited Budget takes on the boys in the Belmont will be made after a scheduled workout over the weekend.

Napravnik rode Mylute to a fifth-place finish in the Kentucky Derby and a third-place finish in the Preakness.  Mylute won’t run in the Belmont.

Julie Krone is the only female jockey to win a Triple Crown race, taking the 1993 Belmont aboard Colonial Affair.

Last year, Napravnik became the first female jockey to win the Kentucky Oaks, capturing the race aboard Believe You Can.
