Kentucky Officials Gathering Data for Health Improvement Plan
Officials are asking for the public’s help in assessing Kentucky’s greatest health needs.
The state Department for Public Health is putting together a State Health Improvement Plan, and is collecting data through an online survey.
State Epidemiologist Dr. Craig Humbaugh says officials want as many people as possible to complete the survey, which asks participants to prioritize needs and areas where more resources should be committed.
Information will be collected until August 1.
"We’ll analyze it and we’ll talk to some of our key stakeholders and eventually we’ll put together the health improvement plan," Humbaugh said.
He says health officials are looking for ways to improve Kentucky’s dismal rankings in areas such as smoking , obesity, cancer deaths and other health categories.
A paper survey is available for those without computer access by calling 502-564-3970.
