LG&E, KU Sending 100 More North After Sandy
By Joseph Lord
Louisville Gas & Electric and its sister company, Kentucky Utilities, are sending 100 more employees, contractors and mutual assistance-partners north to help in the recovery from the superstorm Sandy, which has led to mass power outages in the eastern United States, the companies said.
LG&E and KU had already sent 300 people to help its parent company company PPL Corp. restore power. Those crews are stationed north of Allentown, Pa. They've also sent 75 people to help Kentucky Utilities and Old Dominion Power deal with expected snow accumulation in southeastern Kentucky and western Virginia.
