Louisville Cards Prepping for Friday's NCAA Matchup with Oregon
The Louisville Cardinals are in Indianapolis, preparing for tomorrow night’s men’s NCAA Tournament matchup with Oregon.
The Cards meet the Ducks in a Midwest Region semifinal. U of L coach Rick Pitino says 12th seeded Oregon may be the most underrated team in the tournament. They advanced with double digit victories over Oklahoma State and St. Louis.
"Our hands are more than full, and we need(ed) a good week to get ready for them, because they are very fast, very physical, very tall, very athletic and extremely well-coached," Pitino said at a Wednesday press conference.
Pitino’s top-seeded Cardinals moved on to Indy after lopsided wins over North Carolina A&T and Colorado State.
"I think the Sweet Sixteen is probably the most fun round of any of them," Pitino said. "The reason being you’re one win away from a dream, to get to a Final Four,"
Pitino has another reason to be fond of this round; he’s never lost a Sweet Sixteen game in his career.
Friday’s other Midwest region semifinal game has Michigan State taking on Duke.
Louisville and Oregon will tip off at 7:15pm at Lucas Oil Stadium.
