Louisville Metro Seeking Public Comment on Insight/Time Warner

Louisville Metro government will host four public meetings in November seeking public input on the cable television service provided by Insight/Time Warner.

The meetings will be:

• 6 p.m. Nov. 28 at the East Government Center, 200 Juneau Drive
• 6 p.m. Nov. 28 at the Southwest Government Center, 72189 Dixie HIghway
• 6 p.m. Nov. 29 at Metro Hall, 527 W. Jefferson St.
• 6 p.m. Nov. 29 at the South Central Government Center, 7201 Outer Loop

The city is seeking comments on: 

• Overall satisfaction with Insight/Time Warner service, including picture and sound quality, encounters with outages and degraded signals and installation and service response satisfaction,
• Viewership and satisfaction with the local public and governmental access channels – Insight/Time Warner Public Access Channel 98 and MetroTV Channel 25,
• The need for current, recent and emerging cable television services, such as high-definition, video-on-demand, interactive television and other similar services
• Internet access and use.

Residents who live in the Louisville Metro franchise area -- in Jefferson County, excluding people living in second- through sixth-class cities -- are invited.

Time Warner bought Insight earlier this year. Since then, Time Warner has been in disputes that led to two local stations -- WDRB and WLKY -- to be pulled from the air. Both stations returned to Insight/Time Warner after agreements were reached.
