Louisville NAACP Awards Annual Scholarships to 12 Students

The Louisville branch of the NAACP on Tuesday night will award 12 Louisville students more than $17,000 in scholarships.

The group is holding its annual Scholarship Awards Program at the West Chestnut Street Baptist Church in west Louisville. This year, the NAACP partnered with McDonald's, which is providing $10,000 worth of scholarships.Funding for the other scholarships comes from the Salome C. Worthington scholarship.Raoul Cunningham says the local NAACP chapter has awarded over $650,000 dollars in scholarships since e became president in 2005.Jefferson County Board of Education member Diane Porter will be the featured speaker.Salome C.
