Louisville's Bike to Work Day is Coming Up

Louisville Metro Government is encouraging residents to take part in Bike to Work day this Friday. There will be five "Meet and Ride" locations in Louisville and Jeffersonville, with an experienced “ride captain” at each site to guide bicyclists on their commute. Those will be at: Seneca Park, Iroquois Park, Shawnee Park, Tyler Park, and at Indiana-side ramp of the Big Four Bridge. Here's more information. After work, commuters will meet to rejoin their ride captains and go back to the "Meet and Ride" locations.Rolf Eisinger is the bicycle and pedestrian coordinator for Louisville Metro Government. He says those who’ve never biked to work should give it a try.“You don’t have to ride your bike five days a week from home to work," he says. "Maybe you live too far out and you want to put your bike in your car with your bike rack on your car, drive part way, park at a Metro Park and then ride the rest of the way in.”
