New York Times Looks at Downtown Louisville Development

Downtown Louisville's hotel projects are getting national attention.Today's New York Times looks at the city's ongoing construction work, noting projects such as the Hilton Garden Inn on Fourth Street,  Hotel NuLu and Aloft. In the piece "Waking Up Louisville's Downtown," The Times notes: As in other American cities that set and achieved similar goals, Louisville’s revival has been accompanied by strong public investments that leverage private spending. In 2000, Louisville opened the $40 million, 13,000-seat Louisville Slugger Field to host the Louisville Bats, a Class AAA farm team of the Cincinnati Reds. The next paragraph notes Fourth Street Live—of interest in part because The Times didn't seem much impressed by the entertainment district a few years ago. In 2011,a Times "36 Hours In" piece called Fourth Street Live "frat-tastic,  "overwrought" and "underthought." Here's thefull story.
