Here's a statement from Kathleen Bergen, a Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman:
At about 11 am today, a Louisville-area resident reported that a small aircraft may have gone down near Exit 14 off I-71, near Crestwood in Oldham County, KY. The FAA notified local authorities. They conducted a search and did not find an aircraft accident.
Earlier: At about 11 a.m. Sunday morning, Oldham County authorities began a search after getting multiple reports of a possible plane crash in the area.
As of 2 p.m., they hadn't found anything, says an Oldham County dispatcher.
Oldham authorities are searching all over the county, by land and helicopter, the dispatcher says.
A Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman could not immediately be reached for comment.
