Ousted Indiana House Democratic Leader Re-elected to National Party Committee
A national campaign group has re-elected former Indiana House Speaker and Democratic leader Patrick Bauer to its board.
The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee helps Democrats campaign for seats in statehouses across the country.
It re-elected Bauer to its board Thursday.
Bauer’s standing among Indiana House Democrats has fallen this year.
He led the caucus for a decade but lost his leadership post this past summer. Democrats removed him as leader in July amid frustration over his management style, which some lawmakers said diminished the voice of other members of the caucus.
Some were upset over his handling of right-to-work legislation approved by the Republican-led General Assembly in the 2012 session.
