Overnight Snow May Not Stick to Roads. Morning Commute May be Awful, Anyway.

Above-freezing daytime temperatures Tuesday may keep Louisville roads from being blanketed in snow before the Wednesday morning commute—but driving issues are still possible.Metro Louisville is expected to get as much as four inches of snow by Wednesday afternoon, the weather service said. Rain will become snow in the late evening and continue through Wednesday morning.Louisville and surround areas are under a winter weather advisory from 7 p.m. Tuesday to 1 p.m. Wednesday. The high temperature Tuesday is expected to be about 49 degrees—that means snow falling on roads overnight probably won't stick, said Mike Callahan, a hydrologist for the National Weather Service in Louisville. Grassy areas will likely have accumulated snow. The Wednesday morning commute may still be tricky, however, because the snow may still be falling when drivers start taking to the roads, Callahan said. Lots of vehicles on the roads plus a few slick spots means the potential for traffic problems."Any snow in Louisville is significant," Callahan joked. Also, wind gust of about 30 miles per hour early Wednesday may decrease visibility for motorists.
