Pitino Not 'Bent Out of Shape' Over Boston Radio Show Insult

The defending national champion Louisville Cardinals men’s basketball team will hold the first of three public scrimmages this weekend.

Coach Rick Pitino says guard Kevin Ware has been cleared to begin full physical workouts.  Ware broke his leg during this year’s NCAA regional final against Duke.    The Red-White scrimmages will be held the next three Saturdays at the KFC Yum Center.

Pitino has been promoting his new book, The One Day Contract.    This week the hosts of a Boston radio show hung up on Pitino after telling him he ruined the Boston Celtics, where he coached before coming to Louisville.

Pitino says he didn’t get "bent out of shape" over the incident.

"You know, I had 50 interviews, 49 were extremely professional.   Extremely professional, over the top professional and loved the book.   One wasn’t.  So, it’s like, you can’t get upset at the one that’s not when 49 were great," he said during a Friday press conference.

Pitino will discuss his book at the Kentucky Author Forum next week.

The Cardinals begin the new basketball season Nov. 9.
