Sleet, Snow, Freezing Rain Heading In Louisville's Direction

Sleet, snow and freezing rain are possible Tuesday evening into the pre-dawn hours of Wednesday morning, prompting officials to pre-treat roads. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Jefferson County and surrounding Kentucky counties until 9 a.m. Wednesday. Counties further south — including Hardin — are under Winter Storm Warnings. The heaviest of the frozen precipitation could shift north or south "depending on subtle changes in temperatures at and just above the surface," the weather service said. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and Louisville Metro crews were pre-treating roads Tuesday with salt-brine.
