Still Alive in College World Series, Indiana Hoosiers to Face Oregon State Beavers Wednesday

The Indiana Hoosiers return to action tomorrow in the College World Series, taking on Oregon State.

The Hoosiers are one game away from elimination after a 5-4 loss Monday night to Mississippi State.

IU coach Tracy Smith says his team struggled to generate any offense against the Bulldogs, striking out 14 times.

"My thought is, it’s an anomaly, this is a good group, we’re going to regroup and go get it.   We are who we are at this point.    We are a good hitting team,  we’ll be a good hitting team next baseball game," he said.

Third-seeded Oregon State, which lost to Mississippi State in Saturday’s opener, stayed alive in the tournament with an 11-4 elimination victory Monday over the Louisville Cardinals.

The winner of the Oregon State-Indiana game will get a rematch with the Bulldogs on Friday.

Wednesday’s first pitch in Omaha is at 8:00pm.
