SWAT Situation Leads to Re-Routed JCPS Buses

Update: The standoff between SWAT and a man holed up in an East Market house is reportedly over. The Courier-Journal reports a dead body was found inside the house that caught fire during the stand off. The identification of the body has not been made available.

Update: Because of the SWAT situation, Lincoln Performing Arts School has canceled all evening activities.

Middle and high school students whose bus stops are in the area of Broadway and Liberty Street are being taken to Meyzeek Middle School, at 828 S. Jackson St., because Louisville Metro Police have blocked off parts of the Phoenix Hill neighborhood.

Louisville Metro Police are involved in a SWAT situation near Muhammad Ali Boulevard and Wenzel Street, MetroSafe said. Police were serving a warrant earlier Wednesday on the 400 block of South Campbell Street when a man fired shots at officers, missing them, The Courier-Journal is reporting.
