U of L No. 1 in College Basketball Polls; Beats UConn 73-58

For just the second time in program history, the Louisville Cardinals sit atop the latest Associated Press college basketball poll.   The Cards are also number one in the USA Today coaches poll.

U of L captured the top spot Monday in both polls following weekend losses by previously unbeaten Duke and Michigan.

It’s the Cards’ first number one AP ranking since they won the 2009 Big East Tournament and their first-ever during the regular season.

U of L improved its record to 16-1 with a 73-58 victory over Connecticut Monday night.

Indiana is number two in both polls, followed by Duke, Kansas and Michigan.

The 12-5 Kentucky Wildcats are no longer among the top 25 in either poll.
