UK's Aaron Harrison 'Not Afraid to Miss' Game-Winning Shots
The Kentucky Wildcats take on the Connecticut Huskies tonight for the men’s NCAA basketball championship.
UK got by Wisconsin 74 to 73 Saturday night after Aaron Harrison put the Wildcats ahead with a long three-pointer with just under six seconds remaining. It was Harrison’s third straight game-winning shot.
"The biggest thing is, he’s not afraid to miss. He’s comfortable in his own skin, he knows how hard he’s worked," said Kentucky coach John Calipari.
"I’ll be honest with you, I think we’ve got another guy up there the same way, and he’s made those shots, (freshman guard) James Young."
Connecticut upset Florida in the other semifinal to advance to the title game for the second time in four years. The Huskies won the championship in 2011. UK captured the title the following year.
Tipoff is 9:10pm in Arlington, Texas.
In the women's NCAA tournament, defending champion Connecticut faces Notre Dame in Nashville Tuesday night. Both teams are undefeated.
