Congressman John Yarmuth of Louisville is spearheading a 100-day action plan that Democrats hope will provide a push to regain the House this fall.

The legislative package unveiled by House Democratic leaders Wednesday emphasizes the middle-class and calls out the Republicans' record of accomplishment.

Among the ideas being pushed are raising the minimum wage, increased infrastructure spending, and creating tax incentives for U.S. companies operating in the country.

Pro-McConnell Super PAC Raises $423,700 Over Three Months—But None From Kentucky

The super PAC supporting Republican Senate Leader Mitch McConnell has once again filed a campaign finance report showing no donations from Kentuckians.

Founded by former McConnell campaign aide Scott Jennings, Kentuckians for Strong Leadership reported Wednesday it had raised just over $423,700 in the past three months.

Unlike a candidate's campaign, federal rules allow super PACs to raise an unlimited amount of money from individuals.

Alison Lundergan Grimes Raises $4 Million, Breaking Kentucky Fundraising Record

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes announced Tuesday she has broken a Kentucky fundraising record by hauling in more than $4 million from supporters over the past three months.

The latest tally means Grimes has also out raised Republican incumbent Mitch McConnell for the third straight quarter, this time by more than $1 million.

Louisville Metro Government to Thank You For Not Smoking in City Parks

Louisville Metro government this week is taking steps to discourage smoking at city park playgrounds and swimming pools.

City officials will unveil signs Thursday thanking adults for not smoking in certain areas of the park where children frequently use.

"Basically we’re just trying to remind the adults that will be in that area to keep the children from being exposed to second-hand smoke," Metro Parks Director Mike Heitz told WFPL.

"That’s the main thing, and by having the signs there they’ll be thoughtful of reminding them of that possibility."

The vice chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus on Tuesday blasted Republican Senator Rand Paul for saying he is doing more for minorities than any other sitting U.S. lawmaker.

Paul touted his civil rights record a day earlier in a visit to west Louisville, where he discussed the importance of school choice. Gearing up for a 2016 presidential bid, Paul has tried to reach out to minorities and make inroads in the black community.

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes is defending a new TV ad targeting incumbent Republican Mitch McConnell over Medicare costs.

At a campaign stop Tuesday in Louisville, Grimes said McConnell has taken votes that have hurt seniors and increased their health expenses.

The 30-second campaign spot features Grimes sitting in front of a fire truck alongside retired coal miner Don Disney, who questions McConnell's vote for the controversial Paul Ryan budget plan.

Jack Conway Raises $750,000 Towards Kentucky Governor's Race

Attorney General Jack Conway has raised more than $750,000 since announcing his campaign for the Democratic nomination for Kentucky governor less than two months ago.

Conway has about $705,000 in cash on hand, according to the campaign's first report to the state election finance registry. He has donated only $1,000 of his own money to his campaign.

It's a significant amount in such as short period. Conway is the only Democratic candidate running in the primary so far.
