Reaction Not Positive (Obviously) to Kentucky Wildcats' Surprising NIT Loss

The Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball team's first-round National Invitational Tournament loss to Robert Morris on Tuesday night ended a particularly rough season. "You sit there and shake your head."Schadenfreude was all over social media Tuesday night—from Louisville Cardinals fans, Calipari dissenters and people who just like seeing traditionally top teams lose. ESPN's Dick Vitale considered the fact that three UK freshmen have been considered first-round picks in the NBA draft. Pardons for his use of a catchphrase:

Kentucky Sports Radio's Matt Jones had issues with the team's effort, too:

At halftime, former Bowling Green Daily News sports editor Daniel Pike brought up the Wildcats' apparent lack of intensity.

Nazr Mohammed played on the Wildcats' 1996 national championship team:

Former Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson, a UK fan:

Yahoo! Sports writer Pat Forde, a former Courier-Journal columnist, had this to say:

Actress Ashley Judd, a Kentucky fan and potential U.S. Senate candidate, avoided criticizing the Wildcats:

Anthony Davis, the Charlotte Hornets center who played on last year's national championship team, initially replied to a Tweet telling him to "remember where he came from" by saying he was from Chicago. That upset Big Blue Nation. This morning, Davis Tweeted:

Meanwhile, Herald-Leader columnist John Clay tries to autopsy the season. WDRB's Eric Crawford analyzes Coach John Calipari'sreaction to the loss. Kentucky Sports Radio considers what happened and then turns its eyes to the next big recruiting announcement.
