Kentuckian Matthew Barzun has enjoyed a star-studded week.
On Tuesday, Bloomberg reported that Barzun and American Vogue Editor Anna Wintour were under consideration to be the next U.S. ambassador to Great Britain.
Today, Politico is reporting that Barzun will serve as co-chair of the 2013 Presidential Inaugural Committee — alongside actress Eva Longoria. Joining them as co-chairs are Jane Stetson, national finance chair for the Democratic National Committee, and Frank White, a former member of the National Advisory Council on Minority Business Enterprises.
Barzun was the Obama campaign’s national finance chair and is a former CNET executive. He also served as ambassador to Sweden from 2009 to 2011.
The inauguration ceremony will be on Jan. 21 — as is customary when the prescribed date for swearing in presidents falls on a Sunday. Obama is expected to be privately sworn in on Jan. 20.
