Sen. Rand Paul Ranks No. 4 on Conservative Think Tank's Scorecard

The sister organization of the Heritage Foundation released its congressional scorecard this week, and Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., is among the top-ranked lawmakers.The Heritage Action for America focuses on a variety of issues on conservative agenda, and is considered a source for constituents to rate if lawmaker's votes match their rhetoric.Among the 29 members of Congress in the "Sentinel status" of 90 percent or higher, Paul received a 96 percent approval rating from the group.Fellow Senators Mike Lee of Utah and Marco Rubio of Florida were the only current lawmakers who scored higher than Paul. Former Sen. Jim DeMint of South Carolina, who left Congress to head the Heritage Foundation, was scored at 99 percent.Other notable scores among the rest of the Kentucky federal delegation were Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell at 76 percent, which is one point higher than Paul's father, former Congressman Ron Paul, who is considered a founder of the liberty movement.Democratic Congressman John Yarmuth of Louisville scored the lowest at 13 percent.
