The food. The rides. The farm animals.
The Kentucky State Fair started today and runs through Aug. 24. A few years ago, WFPL’s Devin Katayama checked out the fair for the first time and filed this report on the sounds from the annual tradition. Listen below:
So what this year? This morning, Eleanor Hasken headed to the fairgrounds. Here’s what she saw:
Heather Jo Ransdell, 12, left, and Laura Ackerman, 15, eat donut burgers.
Fatima Alabisalim naps against a cow after being up all night setting up for the exposition.
Carson Cameron, 7, left, and Caleb Cameron, 11, climb on hay bales.
Hot brown on a stick. Maybe you’ve heard about it.
Mike Smith, 62, uses a watering can to pour water into rabbit cages.
