National Supporter Has Doubts Matt Bevin Can Overcome Mitch McConnell

Republican Senate candidate Matt Bevin has failed to provide Kentucky primary voters with a compelling reason to replace incumbent Mitch McConnell in next month's election.

That's what conservative commentator Erick Erickson said in a blog post Wednesday, sharing his doubts about the Tea Party-backed challenger's chances.

Alison Lundergan Grimes’ Fundraising Haul Cuts Mitch's McConnell Cash Advantage in Half

For the second time since entering the Kentucky Senate race, Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes' fundraising haul has outpaced Republican incumbent Mitch McConnell.

In the first three months of the year, Grimes raised $2.7 million compared to the $2.4 million McConnell generated for the quarter.

The money advantage still belongs to McConnell, who has raised $22 million overall in a duel campaign against Grimes and GOP primary challenger Matt Bevin.

Bevin announced Monday his campaign raised $1.1 million during the same period.

McConnell leads Bevin by double-digits in every poll and has brutalized his challenger in attack ads, calling him a "con man" and "fraud" in campaign materials.

Republican Matt Bevin is a Heaven-sent choice for Kentucky voters in the upcoming U.S. Senate primary election.

That's according to conservative radio show host Glenn Beck, who gave a rousing speech at a rally for conservative grassroots  activists over the weekend.

Beck was the keynote speaker at FreePAC Kentucky on Saturday afternoon.

The event that was organized by FreedomWorks and featured a number of tea party activists and candidates from across the country and state, including Bevin, who spoke on a variety of issues.
