Occupy Fleet Street: Dickens' A Christmas Carol Highlights Economic Inequality

An annual holiday tradition starts back up this week at Actors Theatre of Louisville. Barbara Field’s stage adaptation of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” opens Thursday in the Pamela Brown Auditorium for its 37th run.

Actors Theatre Apprentices Stage Poetic Investigation of Milliennials

The Actors Theatre of Louisville acting apprentices take the stage tonight and tomorrow evening with a free workshop performance of "Run Like Children," an original play created by the members of the company.

Directed by Kate Eminger, "Run Like Children" features seven acting apprentices: Noelia Antweiler, Ethan Dubin, Chalia La Tour, Andy Reinhardt, Madison Welterlet, Christa Wroblewski and Michael Zuccola.

Directed by Obie Award-winning playwright and director Adam Rapp (“Finer Noble Gases,” “The Edge of Our Bodies,”), “True West” is a viciously funny and tragic portrayal of two brothers testing the boundaries of love, resentment and civilization.

The Big Break: In a New Light

This week on our audio diary series "The Big Break," Louisville Ballet trainee Claire Horrocks sees the cast list for "The Nutcracker" and learns her new choreography for the familiar show. Actors Theatre apprentice Samantha Beach sits in on rehearsal for "True West," where she discovers a hidden talent, and Kentucky Opera studio artist Brad Raymond takes "Tosca" on the road.
