Actors Theatre's Young Professionals Board Recruiting at Costume Party

Actors Theatre of Louisville will open the doors to its costume shop Saturday for a cocktail party hosted by the GO Board, a group of young professionals who raise money and awareness on behalf of the theater. Costumes and Cocktails is the GO Board’s main recruitment event for the year. The GO Board offers networking and exclusive inside-the-production events for the under-45 theatergoing crowd.

"We all kind of have a joint love for the theater and appreciate supporting the theater," says board co-president Emily Lamb.

Actors Theatre Adds Eno Play to Upcoming Season

Kentucky Natives Win Tony Awards

Ashland native Steve Kazee picked up a Tony Award last night for Leading Actor in a Musical for his performance as Guy in "Once," the Broadway adaptation of the 2006 film an Irish busker and a Czech immigrant who spend a week together writing and playing music. "Once" won eight Tony awards this year, including Best Musical.

Kazee graduated from Morehead State University and has appeared in many television and stage productions, including a run as Sir Lancelot in "Spamalot."

Watch Kazee's emotional acceptance, which he dedicated to his "Once" co-star and his late mother.

Actors Theatre Names Former Intern Associate Artistic Director

Actors Theatre of Louisville

California-based director Meredith McDonough returns to the Actors Theatre of Louisville artistic staff this fall, where she began her career as a directing intern 14 years ago.

The new Actors Theatre of Louisville associate artistic director went on to serve two seasons as associate director of the apprentince/intern company before leaving in 2001 for the west coast. Since then, she’s worked all over the country, most recently as a director and developer of new plays at TheatreWorks Silicon Valley.

McDonough says she’s thrilled to come back to Louisville.
