Both sides of the Big Four Bridge are now open.

Early Tuesday, barriers on the Indiana side were removed and people were allowed to walk or bike across the Ohio River between Louisville and Jeffersonville. The Kentucky side of the bridge opened in February 2013.

Mayors Greg Fischer and Mike Moore, of Louisville and Jeffersonville respectively, attended the opening Tuesday afternoon with crowds waiting to cross the bridge.

Jeffersonville Mayor to Discuss Plans for Big Four Approach

Jeffersonville Mayor Mike Moore is asking city residents to give input on design plans for Indiana s approach to the Big Four Bridge, which will likely include mixed-use and recreational developments.

The plan includes a residential and commercial development as well as an open air pavilion.
