Indiana University Falls To Oregon State Ending College World Series Run

Indiana University fell to nationally seeded Oregon State Wednesday night in the elimination game, ending the Hoosiers' season and knocking the team out of the College World Series.

Indiana was hitless through five innings as Oregon pitcher Matt Boyd pitched a complete game, four-hit shutout.

The only run of the game came in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly. The final score was 1-0, ending one of the most successful baseball seasons in Indiana baseball history and the team's first appearance in the College World Series.

Still Alive in College World Series, Indiana Hoosiers to Face Oregon State Beavers Wednesday

The Indiana Hoosiers return to action tomorrow in the College World Series, taking on Oregon State.

The Hoosiers are one game away from elimination after a 5-4 loss Monday night to Mississippi State.

IU coach Tracy Smith says his team struggled to generate any offense against the Bulldogs, striking out 14 times.

Indiana Hoosiers Top Louisville Cardinals in College World Series

The Indiana Hoosiers baseball team beat the Louisville Cardinals on Saturday night in the teams' first game of the College World Series.

The Hoosiers were helped by strong pitching, holding the Cardinals to four hits and leading to a final score of 2-0.

The Cardinals trailed 1-0 in the first inning when the Hoosiers' Scott Donley hit a single, scoring Kyle Schwarber.

Louisville Cardinals, Indiana Hoosiers 'Living in the Dream' of College World Series

The University of Louisville and Indiana University baseball teams open play against each other in the College World Series tomorrow in Omaha, Nebraska.

It’s the first-ever trip to the eight-team championship for the Hoosiers.     

First baseman Sam Travis helped them get there with a home run in last weekend’s victory over Florida State.

Cards Prepping for College World Series Showdown with IU

The University of Louisville baseball team is preparing for the program’s first College World Series appearance since 2007, and just the second in school history.       

This will be the first trip to the tournament in Omaha, Nebraska for coach Dan McDonnell’s players, but he’s been there twice, both as a player (with the Citadel in 1990) and a coach (U of L in '07).

Louisville Cardinals, Indiana Hoosiers Make College World Series. And Will Play Each Other.

For just the second time in school history, the University of Louisville baseball team is going to the College World Series.

Jeff Thompson pitched seven strong innings in U of L’s 2-1 victory over No. 2 overall seed Vanderbilt in a NCAA super regional today in Nashville.

The Cards have won a school-record 51 games this season. They swept their best-of-three series with the Commodores, who defeated U of L 10-2 back in April.

Cards to Face Vanderbilt for College World Series Berth

The University of Louisville baseball team is two victories away from a trip to the College World Series, but the Cards will have to get past one of the country's best teams. 

U of L visits Vanderbilt this weekend for a best-of-three series in the NCAA super regional round.

Vandy is the number two national seed and defeated the Cards 10-2 in their last meeting in April.

But U of L has gone 19-2 since then.
