Tea Party Plans Anti-Obamacare Rally to Mark Kentucky Legislative Session Opening

Before the first gavel is hit the start the 2013 legislative session in Kentucky, Tea Party activists plan to rally in the Capitol Rotunda against the federal Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare.

It’s the second capital rally against the health care law, which Kentucky has actively worked to implement by executive order from Governor Steve Beshear.

Rally organizer and activist David Adams says the goal of the rally is to convince lawmakers to pass a law overturning Beshear’s order and the health exchange in Kentucky.

Christian Healthcare Supporters Rally In Wake of Judge's Ruling

A judge’s order blocking a Christian health sharing group from doing business in Kentucky has rallied supporters.

This week, Judge Thomas Wingate ordered Christian Care Medishare to stop operating in the commonwealth immediately as part of an on-going legal battle between Medishare and the state. Christian members of Medishare pay into an account that can be used to pay other members' medical bills. And the state says the organization must follow the same rules as insurance companies.

But Medishare's supporters want to move the fight to the state legislature.

Report Shows Kentucky's Debt Continues to Increase

An annual report that describes the state’s financial outlook shows that Kentucky has once again gone deeper into debt.

The report, when compared with past years, shows the state added more than $110 million in debt during the last fiscal year.

Tea Party activist David Adams says that number shows that claims by Governor Steve Beshear that he’s balanced the budget 10 times are false.

Activist Files Civil Rights Complaint Over Christian Health Sharing Battle

Kentucky Tea Party activist David Adams has stepped up his battle with the state Department of Insurance by filing a federal civil rights complaint. 

Adams has spent the last three months fighting with the department over the rights of Christian Care Medishare and other Christians-only health sharing organizations, Christian HealthCare and Samaritan Ministries.
