JCPS Middle and High School Showcase Starts Friday

Jefferson County Public Schools will host its annual middle and high school showcase at the end of this week and families can begin applying for schools the following Monday. 

The showcase gives families a chance to visit with schools where they’re eligible to apply and to meet school staff and ask questions.

The elementary school showcase has been moved up to Nov. 17 in an effort to prepare the district and families for student assignment changes taking effect next year.

District 2 School Board Candidate Jones Jr. Responds to Conflicts of Interest Claims

JCPS Candidate David Jones Jr. has been on Humana's board since 1993 and also founded Chrysalis Ventures.

Jefferson County Board of Education District 2 candidate David Jones Jr. says his opponent’s complaints that invalidate his candidacy are misleading.

A complaint was filed this week by candidate Phil Haming asking the Office of Education Accountability to investigate a possible conflict of interest with Jones’ candidacy.

JCPS Board Candidate and Jeffersonville Principal Put On Paid Leave

A Greater Clark County Schools principal who is also running for Jefferson County’s school board has been placed on administrative leave.

An email was sent to the media Thursday evening (below) saying James Sexton was not in the office but that no disciplinary action had been taken against him. The school district has not explained why he was put on leave.
