The Cardinals are the NCAA Tournament’s overall No. 1 seed. Pitino says he’s watched their opponent, the No. 9 seeded Wichita State Shockers, and is convinced that they’re underrated.

On Wednesday, Louisville Cardinals guard Kevin Ware spoke at news conference attended by every local media outlet and several national news outlets. They all were curious about Ware's right leg, which he broke in Sunday's Elite Eight game before a national televised audience.

Extra Police Planned for Final Four Revelry if the Louisville Cardinals Win

Louisville authorities plan to have 200 officers ready to mobilize should the Louisville Cardinals win in the Final Four on Saturday and the national championship on Monday.

The plan focuses on the University of Louisville campus, Bardstown Road /Baxter Avenue corridor, Fourth Street Live and western portions of Broadway.

Traffic Restrictions Planned for Possible Final Four Celebrations

Police plan to institute no stopping or parking restrictions on streets near the University of Louisville and west Louisville on Sunday and possibly Monday because of the potential for celebrations after the Louisville Cardinals men's basketball team's Final Four game(s), Metro Police said.

No parking or stopping restrictions will be in effect from 7 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday on:

Rick Pitino: Kevin Ware Expected to Join Louisville Cardinals for Final Four

Injured guard Kevin Ware is doing well the day after breaking his right leg in a Final Four game against the Duke Blue Devils, Coach Rick Pitino said on Monday.


"He's up and about—he's actually on crutches walking," Pitino said. "They want his blood flowing. The only thing they're concerned about at this point in the next 48 hours because the bone comes out of the skin they're concerned about a five or ten percent chance of infection. If no infection takes place, they'll be very excited."

Louisville Cardinals Advance to Final Four, but Ware Seriously Injured

The Louisville Cardinals men's basketball team advance to its second straight Final Four on Sunday, but a serious injury in the first half cast a pall over the game.

With about 6 minutes to go in the first half, guard Kevin Ware broke his right leg—a  serious injury that visibly upset the Louisville players and coaches a caused a lengthy break in play.

U of L, UK Reach Women's NCAA Sweet Sixteen Round

The Louisville Cards and Kentucky Wildcats are both headed to the third round of the women’s NCAA basketball tournament.

Second-seeded UK advanced to the Sweet Sixteen with a 84-70 victory tonight over Dayton.     The Wildcats will face Delaware, a number six seed, Saturday in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Fifth-seeded U of L made it to the third round with a 76-63 win over Purdue at the KFC Yum Center.

It’s part of the March Madness 75th anniversary celebration.

The NCAA has compiled a list of 75 players, 25 teams and 35 tournament moments for fans to consider. Voters will trim the list to 15 players, one team and one moment.

U of L Men's Soccer Team To Play For Final Four Berth

The University of Louisville men’s soccer team can advance to the Final Four of the NCAA tournament with a victory tomorrow at Maryland.

The Cards are 14-5 on the season and 3-3 on the road, with one of those losses coming at Maryland in late August.

Coach Ken Lolla says his team is ready for the rematch.

"Psychologically, I think it helps us that we got pounded a little bit (in the first game)," he said. "Our guys are looking to have another crack at them. We’re a much different team, so we’re looking forward to going back there."
