Photos: Dairy Kastle Serves Up Summertime Treats

Dani Porter, 20, and Alexis Porter, 17, stop by the Dairy Kastle ice cream stand at least once a week for an afternoon treat.

Alexis Porter’s favorite desert is the orange sherbet; Dani Porter’s is the vanilla and chocolate swirl.

While Dani Porter rarely deviates from her normal favorite, she decided on Thursday to try a Fourth of July specials—ice cream with shortcake, blueberries, strawberries and sprinkles.

Diary Kastle, at Eastern Parkway and Bradley Avenue, sells on average a couple hundred ice cream cones and chili dogs a night each.

Louisvillians are getting their fireworks ready for the Fourth of July weekend.

Jefferson County law prohibits the purchase and lighting of the airborne stuff—but there's a way to get serious fireworks.

On Thursday, we visited two fireworks sellers: Powder Keg in Jeffersonville, Indiana, and a stand at the corner of Hancock Street and Broadway in Louisville.

WFPK's Sean Cannon Remakes 'Super Bowl Shuffle' With Jim James, Lil Bub and More

With the big game in sight, there's a star-studded remake of the "Super Bowl Shuffle" making the Internet rounds. It features Jim James, David Wain, Lil Bub (the cat), John Roderick, Tom Scharpling and a host of other notables from comedy and music.

This track was masterminded and produced by WFPK's own Sean Cannon, host of After Dark. He's selling the song to raise money for charity, too.
