Kyle Wiltjer scored 19 points and Jarrod Polston provided a career-best ten points off the bench to lead the Kentucky Wildcats to a 72-69 win over Maryland in their regular season opener at the Barclays Center Friday night in Brooklyn, New York.
The third-ranked Wildcats led by as many as 15 points early in the second half, but the Terps came back and had a chance to tie the game at the buzzer.
UK faces number eight Duke Tuesday in Atlanta.
The top-ranked Indiana Hoosiers defeated Bryant 97-54.
