Social issues are becoming the focus of the Indiana gubernatorial race.

Democrat John Gregg has released a new television ad targeting Republican opponent Mike Pence over pay equity for women and access to Planned Parenthood’s preventative health programs. In 2011, Pence led the fight to to cut funding for the group.

In the Indiana gubernatorial race, a new poll shows Republican Mike Pence leading Democrat John Gregg by an 18-point margin.

The Indiana Chamber of Commerce released the survey Thursday showing that among 600 likely voters, Pence has 50 percent while Gregg is being backed by 32 percent in the fall election. Polling also shows Libertarian candidate Rupert Boneham with about 3 percent support, and that 15 percent of Hoosier voters are still undecided.

Pence campaign spokeswoman Christy Denault says they haven’t focused on the poll numbers, but instead on touting their platform.

"Mike has a vision for how to make this a state that works, we’re focused on jobs and education," she says. "We have a whole slate of policy rollouts already scheduled and we’re going to keep rolling out our ideas so that the people of Indiana get an idea who Mike Pence is and what he will do should he become governor of this great state."

Indiana Democratic gubernatorial candidate John Gregg unveiled his first campaign television ad Tuesday that highlights his small town roots.

The 30-second spot features the former state House speaker criticizing political advertisements and instead talks about his longtime friends from his hometown of Sandborn, Indiana.

Gregg tells the story of a friend who caught cancer and moved in with others, adding he wants to keep Indiana "a place where people look out for each other.

Indiana Republican gubernatorial candidate Mike Pence launched his latest television ad Monday, which focused on bringing jobs to the state. 

The 30-second spot features Pence recounting to a crowd of supporters how he found himself out of work as a young man with a new family. It doesn't contain specific proposal to attract new businesses, but emphasizes that bringing new jobs to Indiana is a chief priority.

"I want Indiana to be known everywhere as the state that works, with better jobs, bigger paychecks and unlimited opportunities," he says in the ad.

In the Indiana governor's race, Republican Congressman Mike Pence is ahead of Democrat John Gregg in fundraising totals by $2.5 million.

Pence reported raising $3 million in the second quarter, which gives the GOP contender over $5.5 million in cash on hand. Gregg, a former Indiana House speaker, garnered around $1.8 million and has $3 million in his campaign coffers.

The Pence campaign has been running television ads since May and it highlighted the number of Indiana contributors .

"Mike Pence will continue to take his vision for making Indiana the state that works to Hoosiers through grassroots meetings, policy announcements and television," campaign manager Kyle Robertson said in a news release.

In the Indiana governor's race, Democrat John Gregg is continuing to bash Republican Mike Pence over controversial remarks comparing the Supreme Court's health care ruling to the terror attacks of September 11.

The Gregg campaign is touting an interview Pence did with a local television station in Indianapolis, which asked him to clarify his original comment. But the congressman refuses to tell reporters what the initial remarks were.
