Northern Kentuckians Share Thoughts on Heroin Epidemic With U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell

FLORENCE– Republican U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell heard testimony on Friday from Northern Kentuckians on how to tackle Kentucky’s burgeoning heroin epidemic.

McConnell held court at the Northern Kentucky Area Development District building for a 90-minute discussion that featured panelists with first-hand knowledge of the drug’s impact, including law enforcement officials, opiate treatment specialists, educators and a recovering heroin addict.

Bill Requiring Sexual Harassment Training for Kentucky Lawmakers Expected in January

State Rep. Joni Jenkins plans to introduce a formal bill during the next meeting of the Kentucky General Assembly that would make sexual harassment training mandatory for state lawmakers.

But state Sen. Katie Stine is questioning whether such a bill would be a "placebo."

The House on Friday unanimously approved a resolution calling for mandatory sexual harassment training—but it doesn't carry the weight of law.
