College Football: U of L at Pitt, Wildcats vs Razorbacks, IU-OSU

After a week off, the University of Louisville Cardinals return to the football field Saturday.

U of L plays its third straight road game with a visit to Pittsburgh.

To accommodate television coverage, the game will have an unusual kickoff time of 11:00am, which doesn’t bother Cards’ coach Charlie Strong.

"It’s going to be an early rise. So we get up early. When you get up you don’t have much time at all, it’s time to go play the football game. Which is good, I like that, I like getting up," Strong said.

College Football: U of L tops Southern Miss; UK, IU Fall

In college football, the Louisville Cardinals overcame a 17-12 halftime deficit to defeat Southern Mississippi Saturday night in a rain-soaked game in Hattiesburg.

U of L running back Senorise Perry scored the go-ahead touchdown late in the fourth quarter and the Cards held off a final Southern Miss scoring drive to improve to 5-0 on the season. The Golden Eagles fell to 0-4.

U of L has next weekend off before returning to action the following Saturday at Pittsburgh.

College Football: U of L at Southern Miss, Cats vs Gamecocks, IU at Northwestern

The Louisville Cardinals take their 4-0 record to Southern Mississippi tomorrow.

The 17th ranked Cards are off to their best start since 2006, but are coming off narrow victories over North Carolina and Florida International.

Coach Charlie Strong says if his team wants to take the leap from good to great, they’ll have to learn how play with intensity for the whole game.

College Football: Florida 38, Kentucky 0

The Kentucky Wildcats fell to number 14 Florida 38-0 today in Gainesville.

UK played without starting quarterback Max Smith, who’s recovering  from  a shoulder injury. 

Replacement quarterback Morgan Newton struggled against the Gators, throwing three interceptions as the Wildcats lost to Florida for the 26th straight time.

Kentucky is now 1-3 on the season and will take on number 7 South Carolina next Saturday in Lexington.

College Football: Cards Preparing For FIU; UK Visits #14 Florida

The University of Louisville football team will be on the road for the next three games, starting next Saturday night at Florida International. U of L is 3-0 for the first time since 2006, but nearly blew a 29 point halftime lead last Saturday against North Carolina. The Cards held on for a 39-34 victory.

Coach Charlie Strong says his team hasn’t yet learned how to play a complete game.
