New Lincoln MKC Will be Built at Ford's Louisville Assembly Plant

Ford’s Louisville Assembly Plant will build the new Lincoln MKC, the company announced today.

Production on the small premium utility vehicle is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2014.

No new jobs are planned for the production of the 2015 Lincoln MKC, but the vehicle is expected to add to the security of the plant.

Lisa Drake is the chief engineer for the Lincoln MKC.

The Lincoln MKC includes features such as a built in modem and something Lincoln is calling “approach detection.”

Yarmuth Credits Federal Investments for Refurbished Ford Plant

U.S. Rep. John Yarmuth, D-Ky., is crediting investments from the federal government for the Ford Motor Co.'s refurbished Louisville Assembly Plant.

Several public officials attended the unveiling Wednesday, to celebrate the retooled factory where Ford makes the Escape compact SUV. The congressman the automaker's ingenuity, but highlighted the $5.9 billion in incentives Ford received from the Advanced Technology Vehicles Manufacturing Loan Program in 2009.
