Potential Indiana Auditor Appointee Asks to be Removed From Consideration

One of Indiana Gov. Mike Pence’s candidates for the post of state auditor has asked Pence to remove her name from consideration.

The Times of Munster says Blair Milo is one of at least six Republicans whom Pence has interviewed for the post.    She’s the mayor of Laporte, in northwestern Indiana.

Milo says she can best fill her commitments to serving the people of LaPorte by remaining as mayor.  Her first term in that office runs through 2015.

Pence spokeswoman Christy Denault says the governor is grateful Milo was willing to consider serving.
