Congressman Todd Young's Campaign Ad Nominated for National Award

Congressman Todd Young

A television ad aired by Indiana Ninth District Congressman Todd Young's campaign last fall has been nominated for two national awards.

The Reed Awards recognize excellence in campaign management, political consulting and political design across dozens of categories.

Young's ad focusing on his effort to get the name of David "Larry" Deckard inscribed on the Vietnam Memorial Wall have been nominated for Best Republican Congressional Candidate Ad and Best Television Advertisement of 2012.

Noise and Notes: The Mourdock Interview and Recapping the Congressional Challengers

Republican Richard Mourdock is in what was considered a tight race for Indiana’s Senate seat. But a recent poll has him down by 11-points to Democrat Joe Donnelly, and observers say the race is leaning Democratic.

Before that poll was released, Mourdock was focusing on his small government policies and the attack on the U.S. consulate in Libya, while trying to keep distance from his controversial comments about rape pregnancies. 

I talked to Mourdock about those remarks, working with the next president and why he thinks the Beghazi attack is being overlooked.

Bill Clinton Endorses Shelli Yoder for Congress

Former President Bill Clinton has endorsed Democratic congressional candidate Shelli Yoder in Indiana’s Ninth District contest.

Yoder is challenging Republican incumbent Todd Young in what has been called as a respectful race. The two recently had their last of two debates.

In a statement, Clinton praises Yoder for her support of an agenda that supports the middle-class and he says that Congress needs fresh voices.

Young Ad Targets Obamacare

In the race for Indiana's Ninth Congressional District race, Republican incumbent Todd Young has released a TV ad attacking President Obama's health care overhaul.

The 30-second spot criticizes the Affordable Care Act as "just one more way that Washington is trying to control" residents lives. It shows a series of doors in doctor's offices slamming in the viewers face to signify a barrier between physicians and their patients with Young opening the door for residents.
