Credit Louisville Independent Business Alliance

South Louisville residents want more restaurants, clothing stores, entertainment and bookstores, according to a survey release recently by the Louisville Independent Business Alliance.

Officials Launching 'Keep South Louisville Weird' Effort

The Louisville Independent Business Alliance and Metro Government officials are planning a series of events and programs designed to encourage the growth of locally-owned, independent businesses in south Louisville.

Alliance director Jennifer Rubenstein says people often associate independent businesses with the Highlands or Frankfort Avenue, but they’re in all areas of town, with many in south Louisville.

A “Keep South Louisville Weird” kickoff event will be held Wednesday at 5:30pm at Khalil’s on Dixie Highway in Valley Station.
