Taco Punk is being sued by the Metropolitan Business Development Corporation for allegedly being overdue on the bulk of a loan in a lawsuit filed as the restaurant's Kickstarter campaign for an expansion project failed to meet its funding requirement.

The decision by Taco Punk's owner to use Kickstarter to support his business has led to some heated discussion on social media in Louisville. We've asked the principal of the matter, restaurant owner Gabe Sowder, to expand on his decision. What a miserable shank in the ribs it is to have to ask to borrow money from friends. It forces you to choose between pride and survival. It instills an immediate sense of gratitude and obligation towards those who lend. The borrower has to consider whether they’ve been spending wisely in the first place.
