Strong Introduced as New University of Texas Football Coach

The University of Texas has formally introduced Charlie Strong has the Longhorns’ new football coach.

Strong took the job after four years at the University of Louisville.

"This is the best of the best," Strong said at a Monday press conference in Austin.   "We always think about the one percent of one percent, this is the top of the line.    When you have an opportunity to go to the best, you’ve got to put your name in and just see where it’s going to take you."

The University of Louisville says football coach Charlie Strong has informed Cardinals athletic director Tom Jurich that he is leaving for Texas.

Strong, who was 37-15 with the Cardinals in four seasons, including 3-1 in bowl games, will replace Mack Brown.
