Louisville Agencies Responding to a Rise in Homeless Young Adults

Louisville’s Coalition for the Homeless is asking for the community’s help in reducing the number of homeless young adults.

Coalition Executive Director Natalie Harris says officials began noticing a trend last year, when member agencies reported an increasing number of young people in crisis.

"Last year, 555 young adults from 18-24, lived as adults in our adult shelters here in Louisville.  And that really broke our hearts.   It made us think that we were not realizing what was going on in our own community," she said.

YMCA, Grasshoppers Distribution Discuss Fresh Produce in Portland

Parkway Food Market is one of seven Healthy in a Hurry locations.

YMCA of Greater Louisville is continuing to lead efforts to bring fresh produce to areas of the city that lack food options.

A report released this week by the  Partnership for a Fit Kentucky features 17 projects around the commonwealth that are models for fighting obesity.
