Third Meeting on Floyds Fork Section of Louisville Loop is Tomorrow

Metro Parks is one step closer to finalizing the Floyds Fork segment of the Louisville Loop. There’s a public meeting tomorrow to get feedback from the community. When it’s completed, the Louisville Loopwill be a 100-mile bike path circling the city. Right now, there are 23 miles completed—from downtown and along the Ohio River into southwest Louisville—and the other sections of the trail are in various phases of planning.Metro Parks Senior Planner Lisa Hite says the department gleaned lots of ideas from its first two meetings in the area. During Tuesday’s meeting, she says they’ll present:“A number of routes that we’re looking at, pretty detailed, many more than we would actually do,” she said. “But we put them out there and hope we get a lot of folks who come and say ‘oh, this is a good idea,’ or ‘oh, no, that’s not going to work.’ Really get some more detailed feedback about the locations.”Once they get that, Hite says her team will work to develop a final route they’ll recommend. There’s not currently any money available for construction of this section of the Loop. Once the plan is done, Metro Parks will begin to look for funding. The public meeting istomorrow at 6 pm at Okolona Christian Church.
