Travel Advisory Issued as Snow Exits Louisville Area

Update 10:10 p.m. Sunday: Travelers Advisory IssuedThe snowfall that started Sunday afternoon is ending in the Louisville area, leaving behind wet roads that may freeze in spots overnight, the National Weather Service said.In a travelers advisory effective until early Monday morning,the weather service is urging drivers to be cautious and allow extra time to get to where they're going.The weather service said wind overnight should help dry roads. It added that those roads may be dry by the morning commute.Update 8:30 a.m. Sunday: Weather Service UpdateIn its latest update, the National Weather Service has lowered  the snowfall totals forecast for the Louisville area on Sunday. The other parts of the forecasts—about accumulation mostly on grassy and elevated surfaces and the possibility of slick spots—remains. Earlier: At this moment, about 5:45 p.m. Saturday, it's 66 degrees in Louisville—with a chance of snow before the work week starts again.The Louisville area is forecast to get a couple inches of snow starting as early as Sunday afternoon, the National Weather Service said. Now, the weather service, in its most recent update,said snow accumulation will be mainly on grassy areas and elevated surfaces.Still, slick spots are possible on area roads early Monday because temperatures will be in the 20s and 30s, and greater snow amounts (as much as three inches) are possible closer to Lexington, the weather service added.The weather service has issued a winter weather advisory for Louisville and surrounding areas from 2 p.m. Sunday to 8 a.m. Monday.Here's a map from the weather service:
